Anticipating the rush for registration and stamp duty, the sub-registrar office has taken a decision that those who will pay the stamp duty fees before December 31, 2020, will get three more months for registration of documents.
The State Government has slashed the registration fees by three per cent till December 31, 2020. Inspector General, Registration and Stamp Duty Omprakash Deshmukh said, “after the three per cent reduction in the registration price, the number of registration has gone up. After paying up the stamp duty, the registration can be done in the next four months.”
The sub-registrar office will remain open on Saturday and other holidays for the public. Likewise, in the cities like Pune, Mumbai and Thane the office hours have increased. According to new timings, the offices will be opened from 7.30 am to 8.45 pm.
Residents from urban areas had to pay five percent and one percent residential tax while for rural areas it was four percent plus one percent cess tax of Zilla Parishad.
